I am an award winning Graphic Designer for Print and Digital/Web with more than 18 years of experience.

In my most recent experience with MCM Group International, an award winning studio of planners and architects, I enhanced digital and print needs for them and their clients, engaging in signage, wayfinding, illustration, character development, branding, visualization, concept development/artwork and design applied to the web.

My strengths are working with Adobe’s Creative Suite, hand coded HTML5 and CSS3 and applying the principles of design with the user in mind.

I collaborate well in teams and individually, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Media-based Fine Arts and an Associates of Arts degree in Graphic Design, applying the psychology of design into my work and honing my skills to manage deadline driven projects. My past experiences included endeavors with clients like LG Phone, Qualcomm, Jack in the Box at Apollo Interactive, AECOM, a multinational engineering firm and Verizon SuperPages, a top online resource for local businesses and retailers.

I enjoy designing and illustrating, for the digital and real world, communicating visually. Understanding the message’s intention and organizing elements with the user in mind, are part of the process to effectively and intuitively get a message across.

Creative Inclination

Since I was a kid, I’ve been attracted to drawing, typography and design. Since 1996, I worked in different aspects of the creative industry — around the halls of an advertising firm (as a traffic intern in a print department), inside a production backroom of a sports photography agency (streamlining post-production activities, including slide imprinting) and in a few cubicles, open-spaces and remotely at home (doing graphic and web related projects).

I appreciate detail and acknowledge the importance of the overall outcome.

I’ve Designed With/For

I’ve worked with various types of clients in different capacities, small & large, from mom & pop shops to a couple fortune 500 companies, within an interactive agency, online business directory, in-house and in a consultant/freelance capacity. At the agency, I designed look and feel comps (visual design) and hand-coded html/css, within a team setting, working alongside programmers and other designers for major web site development.

Learn more about the types of customers/clients I’ve worked with and how I contributed to their projects in Customers/Clients + Projects page.

I enjoy technology and visual design/arts, finding inspiration from my everyday activities, surroundings, family and friends. Although, I’m still excited learning different mediums, photo snapping with my Android seems to be my everyday favorite, even when I dream of fast film from my old SLR or the sound of aperture adjustments from a my handy DSLR camera.

Life Outside of Design

I enjoy eating good eats, keeping active, staying creative, thinking of far off places, keeping mindful of balance, dancing and keeping my dog company.

I love living and working in Long Beach, California, about thirty minutes to Downtown Los Angeles and Orange County without traffic, forty to an hour with traffic or on the metro rail.
